One of my customers was out there that night, that truck belongs to a buddy of his. A guy in the crowd GAVE him the tailgate off his truck to replace it - how cool is that?

That was my buddy nick, he had the white 3rd gen dually that won that night in the street class. He went over to his wife's F350 that was towing his gooseneck and pulled the tailgate off and gave it to the guy. Saved him $500 all he had to do was get it painted since Nicks was blue. He had a spare tailgate anyway since he had bought a complete new bed for the truck that came with a tailgate and figured why not help the guy out!

I remember it also like it was yesterday. It was very nice of Nick to just give that guy his tailgate, but just remember that even though we talk a lot of trash and rib each other all the time we really will help out another fellow diesel nut when we can.

Every time that guy opens his tailgate he will remember the guy with the Cummins that gave it to him.
You have to hand it to that Ford driver for being so calm headed about the whole ordeal.
I think I'm going to build one that the PA/MD/DE chapters can donate to the buck, via Advertising DTR on a sign on top of the bar. Its going to be the kind that the ends go into the receiver hitch and use a standard hitch pin or just have loop ends and use clevises. I think I might even add mud flaps.
