You notice how pretty much everyone left you on your own to face your fate, eh?
(All in fun)Yes, the convoy up from Airdrie was cool. Exept for the fact that all the trucks I was running with were equipped with nice hwy gearing...VT's heavy 4.10 short legged truck was like that one gimped up kid in gym class who couldn't run very well, yelling at everyone else "WAIT UP GUYS! I'M RUNNING AS FAST AS I CAN!"
The truck repayed me for running her hard at 2500 rpm by barfing out over 6 litres of oil through the blow-by tube
. When I pulled into Red Deer, the oil pressure went to ZERO, VT wet his pants in fear, shut off the truck, and took the very first right turn I could find. Damm near took out the front end components when I misjudged my speed and "Armstrong" steering rate and just missed a concrete divider!I did get to Canadian Tire after using my remaining spare 4 litre jug of synthetic...$60.00 for 8 litres of Rotella Synthetic
.Anyhoo, that's why VT went missing. I WAS grateful for the 10 offers of help/towing/scrapping/Ford Sales I was offered throughout the day LOL! (thx Homestead for having my back on the way home...and of course at 90kph she spit NO oil...figures).
It was a grand day...one highlight was Scotty moving his 425lb warm up ball off of his truck and into that other guy's Avalanche...LMAO I though the Avalanche was gonna bust a spring when that ball plopped into the bed and slammed the rear end down
To be honest, my personal favourite truck was most definitely Freddy 2 Pipe's 3-tone 1st Gen (light blue, dark blue, and exposed primer). I LOVE home-built stuff on work trucks...Fred's truck was full of little things that made me smile (but I have more duct tape than you do!)
Homestead wins for the most gauges...it was like a freaking aircraft cockpit in there! I think I even saw one for heater fan RPM and windshield wiper cycles per minute

Scotty's front bumper was extremely cool...so was the dual shaker intake on the hood.
And thanks again to Lil Dog for organizing the event, and to BodyMechanic for the "lot" donation. I'll bring some other (cough) prizes (cough) to the next one.
My business server is a little...err..."full". I can put some pics up soon, be patient. They'll be in my site photo gallery.
I had a great time there.
Like the doctor mentioned, the 3 hr lunch was kind of tough.
I was gettin REAL hungry.
Now that I know more of you, I will have to so some of my pranks next time.
Also, thanks for the support for Scotty Systems!
I think there may be a couple Shakers in Alberta very soon.

Okay...the pics are up in my personal profile.
and like the moron I am, I forgot to get a group shot of everyone before we all left. Apologies...if anyone has some additional photos, I'd like to get them up as I did not get very good shots of the trucks that showed.
(Must have been the oil fumes emanating from my undercarriage).
ps I already have the prizes for the next meet.
and a pps
I went out and bought a diesel compression tester from PA today. Has 4 adapters, and it's designed for Cummins engines
Next meet should be a group compression test, I think!

There was some interest in a Summer campout, RV, Quadding, Motor biking weekend near Rocky. I suggested a spot in the mountains called Limestone where there is a creek with a gravel pad, easy access for trailers, and lots of room. The only thing not allowed is big trucks playing and it is on a Shell Canada road and they expect respect for their traffic and leases. There are multiple Quad-Bike trails and NO Fee's. Keep this in mind as we will have to mark the area early on the weekend to accomadate directions and room, it can get busy. We live close by and can make it all happen with some communication. Really enjoyed the casual get together even though we had other business to deal with that day. PK

Maybe I should have hung there for a while longer-but the elevated estrogen levels were starting to frighten me........

Yeah, they couldn't quite grasp the breadmaker deal-or the fact that all of us had driven from all over the province just to talk about diesel Dodge trucks-they actually called Andy over to confirm my story. I should have told them that we were a top-secret society meeting to plan our coup-d'etat.....

I called Don the parts manager at Airdrie Chrysler and he has instructed his people to sell parts at wholesale to all DTR members. The service department will also give fleet price on labor which is a $10 per hour discount.

Thanks Jim. Now when we go in there, hopefully they'll know what we're talking about.
When Albert at Olds gets his dyno set up we should set up a dyno day and invite Airdrie Chrysler.
