no, the ford has an automatic. I need to keep it an Auto so my old man can drive it. I told him I would put the engine in another truck for him and then when the time came I could have the truck..

I will check with ATS, thanks guys..

From all the reading I have been doing, the swap does not appear to be so bad. I can sell the 6.9 the auto trans in the truck and maybe even the transcase and have enough moeny to buy the kit off of fordcummins website which has the new engine mounts, wiring diagram, ac manifold, tachometer converter, and also a bushing kit to make all the ford factory gauges work with the cummins.

Also, remember that by that year model, Ford went to the D50 TTB axle which makes it a little stronger over the earlier D44, but more unique and harder to find parts for. If it was me, I would look for a donor F350 D60 solid axle from an '87-'97 model and then its a direct/simple swap. Good luck any route you take!!!!! Looks like a great project.

Hi y'all!

Well, I got my tranny fixed ($3000 )
Complete rebuild, using same (ATS) converter; replaced broke drum.

I'm back on the road again, and (as soon as I get off this here computer) getting ready for another trip to Colorado.

I'm still in Colorado. Just got back from camping/atving at Taylor Park.

Haven't heard from John (streetsmoker) - I thought he was planning a trip to Moab...

Yeh, I'm still here also........I think the economy has most all those who like this stuff quite as a mouse lately.......I talked with Prospector and we really need to get a meeting together again.......last time we met was almost2 years ago now when we met to fix my junk and found the head was messed up.......everything had went downhill from there as trucks have been sold or broke down and many shift their resources to more important things........I'm around, just more like in the background lurking until interest pops back up.

One thing i will be doing when I get off the boat this time is taking the truck to the track for the 1st time since it was fixed last Sept. I have no idea what if anything the new head has done for the truck.......hasn't seen a dyno or the strip since being fixed.

I'm back in TN now.

Be happy to get together sometime if you aren't too embarrassed to hang out with a duramax driver.
