I don't know what I'm going to do with my head gasket yet. Are there any special tools needed to do the job? I would also like to change the timeing case gasket it had a chunk of gasket fall out and is sealed with some silicone now.
So far the truck is all stock except for the #10 plate. To be honest any money that could have gone towards any upgrades will be eaten up by this repaier. I stopped by a local diesel shop the other day and asked for an estamate. They printed off an estamate of almost $1200 I would say they have severly hiked there parts since I saw an oil filter listed for $31 and it looked like they were going to get the gaskets from napa?

Have you called Floor-It and talked to John? You're close enough, we can get the truck there..

If you need the number ask Mike or Brian, i beleive they probably have it memorized....

Mike, I just meant that you know John.. not that your truck is broke down so often that you have the number of your #1 mechanic on speed dial... that is an unfair assumption on your part....now my feeling are hurt.....

When I say my 246,000 mile 12 second truck is daily driven and towed hard with, I mean it. It's setting out there in the lot getting covered under snow right now. Which reminds me, I need to turn the boxes off before I pull out tonight.

I stoped by Floor It a couple of weeks ago. John is so busy he had to unplug the phone so he could get something done other than talk on the phone. Good luck getting through. I was at the shop twice that day and I never got to talk to him because he was on the phone talking to his current customers with trucks in his shop. Last time I did talk to him he didn't think he'd be taking anymore trucks till March.
I've got his # if you really want it.
