MODTR-30 Chapter thread
Well, we looked around, couldnt find you guys...
we sat right below the announcers stands up next to the fence... wow, good show and some realy sweet trucks!
The turbines were neat, but I think I enjoyed the Street Stock class the most, but I do wonder , just how much modding is allowed and still be considered "street stock"??
There were a couple of those trucks that werent too dern "stock"
Made me feel for the couple guys who were obviously hooking up with their daily drivers..
Teh F250 with teh cummins conversion was neat, did a heck of a good job too...My favorite had to be the Sheides Diesel 3500 in the Open class tho, looked like he could have taken that sled all the way to St. Louis if he had wanted to!
Looks like a pretty expensive hobby tho...but I'd love to try it just once to see what it feels like.....but with my luck, I'd be one of those guys where we heard the loud "POP" and everyone goes "awwwww...too bad"
Had fun, The BOSS is addicted I think.. she loved it and wants a pulling truck now

It does give one a better apreciation for teh power potential of these engines! I think I am starting to come down with the BOMB Bug.. on the way home I was explaining to the BOSS how I didnt want to start doing anything to the truck with out a pyro first to keep an eye on things , and she replied,"well, guess WE need to get one then".....gee I love that girl!

it's alot more addisting than you know. once you finally do it and you figure out your truck how to take off oh gee, it's sooooooo bad addicting. cause all you can think of is how much more power you can make and how much better you can do at the next one. i'm still ticked i didn't get to make it.
I was there in the pits. I was kind of every where but I spent most of the time with the guy that drove that copper colerd ram in the street class. It was funny watching them beating a set of oversized center caps into his rear wheels becouse they would not let them run with the rear axle bolts exposed.
Guess there were more than a couple of us there, just no-one knows what anyone else looks like!!!:

Made it to Marshfield. Tristan21 and I got together since I gave him my ph#. He was going to pull but forgot a few important things and was a little a woried about breaking. We had a good time. 20 or so diesels, a long wheel base class and a short wheel base class? Kind of strange but they weren't even talking about the diesels haveing a pull. Most of the trucks were stock of close to it. The short wheel base a Ford was the winner. From the smoke he was blowing he was not close to stock. The long wheel base was taken by a 07 dodge dually, obviously had the 6spd auto in it. It had Baily diesel on the door. Have to pull my tuck sometime when I don't need it the next day to go 200mi.
Hey Darren it was good to meet ya. I ended up going to church yesterday, after leaving the pull soo late, then we went to silver dollar city with the kids for a few hours and then had to be back to drop the kids off at vacation bible school and meet a few guys over at the shop to give them tools for tomorrow.
Needless to say it was a tiring day. Sorry I was a little spaced out at the pull, im a little on edge these days with, tryin to quit smoking, a buisness to run and 5 kids full of activities and excitement. Anyway im hoping to try my first pull at the springfield fair on the on Aug. 4th. I think it starts @ 4:45 acording to the web site. Hope some of you can attend.
I suppose that will all have to do with if I get the Auora 5000, snow, inj., head studs and TST put on before then. We'll see, Ive got a long week ahead of me and my truck needs to get me to work all week while i'm working @ Kraft.
By the way in case I was sidetracked or forgot to tell you I thought your "science experiments" were interesting to say the least. Innovation has to start somewhere and its nice to see somebody else tryin stuff. Hope you get the 3rd gens figured out.
By the way my oldest daughter had a lot of nice things to say about yours, they seemed like they got along pretty good.
Anyways I gotta get up for work in a few hours so I'm outta here.

I'll try getting a hold of John this week and seeing what he has going on....
gotta remember where I put his phone number now
