Just got back from a spin and saw 60 psi without a gun going off under the hood. Took 3 tries to get the boots to stick. I let out at 60 psi because some traffic was coming. Need to get on a road by myself and set her on the rug and see what she does. Like I said took 3 tries total to get all the bubbles to stop when pressure testing @ 15 psi. Finally got it to hold pressure. The waste gate was screwed up. I set it using an air compressor and a regulator, but for some reason its now gating at 40 psi. First clue was laying into it and hearing the wush-wush-wush when quick shifting 3rd and 4th. Not sure what happened, but by-passing it all together sure fixed it! LOL.

Then noticed valves where out of adjustment, ran all the valves and found 3 exhaust valves really loose. Got everything back in spec which helped. Checked timing and she's still where I set it (woot!). It does act a lot better. Another hook will tell...

There's a Scott City in KS and MO. Both are a really, really long drive for me.

For 9/8 there's a MSTPA pull in Archie, MO. Not sure if they'll have a sponsored diesel class for that one. Then there's also a pull in Tuscumbia, MO too same night. It's MMTTPA, so it would be sanctioned and first hook fee would be a little pricey. Finally there's my association MHTTPA, who have a pull in Mountain Home, AR. How's that for choices?

I'll probably head to Mountain Home, it's a haul, but it's straight south and a cheaper hook for me. Plus I get points for it. I have a few more tricks up my sleeve this week for the truck yet and I need to get a trailer lined out. Seems like those guys that show up with their truck on a trailer get like 20-30 ft more on their pulls than me, so I'm going to try it too. Plus I got a couple more stickers to put on it. That should get me 10 more feet.

Hey, you put my name on the side and you might just get the right line to run down the track I talked alot with those boys before the pull, PM can attest to that. I think those boys have figure out that I knwo the best line down a track, call it a gift lol. I learned how to read a track because in the pulling tractors back home I grew up building we didn't have any instruments.... Good for learning to know a track though. I think I might come down there then, if you think its going to be a good pull.

Not another trailer truck. Ok you bring the trailer and I'll haul you home if it comes to that.

Just so happens that I'll be in Harrison AR that weekend anyway. So much for Scott City. GS maybe you could meet down there at Harrison and PM also to go to MH together, if PM's up and running or not sold his truck.

Well if that's how you feel I'll meet you at Archie, MO then. Didn't really want to see the outlaws/inlaws any way. Thanks for the info satburn.
There has to be some pulls around Topeka and KC, Birlington, Emporia, somewhere out there at the end of the diesel planet.
I'm going to be in the Lawrence/Ottawa/KC area part of this week. Maybe I should call all the local diesel shops and see what's going on around there.
Maybe I should come over to your place Wed. or Thur. night to visit you???

Mother of all truck pulls list...

Where are the pulls!!!???

Not an easy question to answer with data all over the place and mostly word of mouth. The way I find them is like this:

1) Find a local sled with a website and schedule posted. Won't tell you "who" is putting it on, but if the sled is there and you can search their chamber of commerce or other association(s) schedules to find out "who".

2) Find a local association website, google their initials and/or full name. Most post schedules online.
3) Benefit/Brush/Fair Pulls. The most elusive of creatures... almost as hard to catch as a unicorn. I usually just watch the forums for these things or get it word of mouth. DTR, CompetitionDiesel, CumminsForum & DieselBombers usually have ads for these in their events and/or pulling sections. Stuff like this...
That is everything I know at this point.
