If it were me I would keep the carrier bearing set up with the stock driveshaft. A new bearing is $75 bucks. With the long 1 peice shafts you will put more stress on the u joints at higher driveshaft speeds due to u joint angle and the flex in the middle of the shaft... thats why the bearing is there to benin with.

For a competition truck its a defferent story.

I got the oil changed in the bike and took it for a spin. Felt good even though the weather is just a teaser for springtime. Just waiting on the dowel pins that line the block up with the head and my truck should be running once again. Been a while since I've been over here.

Truck is running again. I'm still amazed at what a balanced motor feels like. I set the cap to a power steering fluid bottle on the truck while it was running... and it stayed there! Still have some heat cycles and torquing to do before I give the 5k springs a squeeze.

Keith I'll check my schedule to get you into the Cave.
Truck ticked me off this morning. Wouldn't go in to 4x4. Finally after about an hour of getting stuck trying to plow it engaged. Now i gotta get the Posi Lock for the truck.
Anyone know of a cheap place to get one? Gonna start Googling for one.

need some help guys,

My truck died on me while driving lastnight on 295. Everything was fine then felt a shudder and then truck was dead. Wouldn't restart either, was cranking but no start. I checked codes and had a map sensor too high for too long. After returning the truck to stock setting and unplugging boost fooler and clearing codes again it started up for a minute surging really badly and my rail pressure was reading 25k on the gauge. If i touched the gas it revved up really fast and then came back down to surging. Any idea's on what i can check, i am going to go outside here in a little bit and try to work on it some more, didn't get towed home until 3am lastnight which was 5 hours in the cold.

I don't know if i for sure fixed the problem or not, will find out when i drive it around but i unplugged the powerpuck and it started right up. I was able to unplug the boost fooler lastnight but wasn't able to get to the puck due to visibility and due to the fact i was scared poopless of someone running into me with every one sliding around in the snow.

Oh and Scott wondering when it warms up if i can still reserve a time to either do that rear cam seal again or rear main whatever is leaking. I have just been dealing with adding oil every week since its been so **** cold
