Anyone have a pressure gauge set up? I need to test the trans pressure in the 95 it isn't shifting in to OD anymore and need to determine if it's the solenoid or a seal.
So how about this snow. I had to go to baltimore to peters spring around 3ish. Got there no problem. Took 3hrs to get back home. 83 was a mess. Van did alright in general. Hopefully truck will be running today.

Sorry dude
Sorry for your bad day Rick. Had a great day using the snow blower I got for a steal at the end of last year! Worked great and after an hour of work drove to work like it never even snowed. 4 wheel drive is for wimps! Limited slip rear wheel drive and a bed full of cinder blocks works for me every time!
Well after many of hours working on truck. It is finally running and moving again. While working on it i found out i needed a new driveshaft. So instead of dealing with a 2 piece and that carrier bearing i upgraded/fixed it with a 1 piece driveshaft.
drive shaft
Can you explain to me the pros and cons of installing a one piece driveshaft vs a 2 piece? I did a serch and only found everything on newer trucks but nothing for 2nd gen truck. Is there a diff. in ride? does it vibrate more or less?
and what all did you have to do to get one made?
By going one piece you eliminate the carrier bearing and one ujoint. This in turn makes it stronger by eliminating failure points. To have Peters make you a new drive shaft all you have to do is bring them your old drive shaft and a center to center measurement of the front and rear ujoint on the rear shaft while installed and at standard ride height. They will put new ends on the new shaft but re-use your slip yoke, or they can buy a new one for you but they are not cheap.
