MD Chapter #33 Never Ending Thread IX
Wrangler question
My son has a 2001 wrangler, 3"lift, Truxus 33's swampers. Has a front shake at 35mph thinks it's wheel balance and probably needs tires but I checked wheel bearings awhile ago and they were looser than normal. Never got back to look at them. How hard are they to get to?
Any other thoughts? picture in my pics.

Wrangler's have a unit bearing. Not too hard or could be stuck. While you have the bearing out might as well change the axle ujoints.

Be sure to check the Track Bar while your under there. If the bushings are worn they can cause weird frontend issues. The frontend parts should look fairly familiar to you they are virtually identical to the frontend in our trucks, just scaled down.
Ok so, heres the magical question. Smarty or Smarty Jr? I don't really plan on going radical with this thing, just want some more power. I have a Raptor 150, just have not put it on yet. What do you guys suggest?
How fast you want to fry the trans? I'm not too familiar with the JR but I'm pretty sure the Smarty will fry your trans in short order if you can't control your right foot.
Speaking of that I should be calling up Dave in the next few weeks for my trans. How are dates for the cave looking?

had a sr, sold it. bought a jr... had it and i loved it. with the new revo sw for it, its very adj. i think i saw somewhere that the 100hp setting a guy dynoed his stock truck and put down 400hp. not too shabby for the jr. i know with my sr i put down 450hp, but that was the s-04. get the jr, want more power out of it- add a mp8 for a nice boost or a xzt for a small boost in hp.
