Brake Line

Question Brake Line

Hey guys the brake line on my truck went bad right in front of the rear wheel does anyone know what size the tubing is? Any suggestions from past experiences would be awesome

Go to Harbor Freight and buy their little line bending tool. Line size I am not sure of. Also there are double flares on the lines, make sure that your flare kit can do this, Harbor Freight has one of these also.

Scott had to do one of these a few months ago, I am sure that he will chime in soon enough.

I've got all the tools to do it. Just don't know when i can. Right now i'm in Richmond VA training for work.

i think i am just going to replace the section that is bad right now maybe when u have time we can bend a full line its going to need it soon enough the lines dont seem to be in very good shape.

I blew the line going to my rear wheels last year... rusted and had an emergency stop which popped it. Once you get the fittings and tubing it took me about 4 hours to do everything. I just cut a piece and took it to standard auto parts to size it up.

i got the tank down tonight and took the bad section out it was so rusted that when i went to cut it, it broke apart. thank god i didnt need to make a sudden stop. does anyone know of any place that has pre bent lines.

Pre bent lines are about $200 if you can find them.
2-6' sticks of brake line, HF bender & flaring tool all for less than $50.
