Is the lift pump in the tank ???? Is this the only pump on the truck ??? Is it covered under warranty ??? The truck is an 04.5 with 80,000 miles.... I need some sort of proof its covered if it is under warranty... If its not under warranty where can I get a good replacement for a good price ??? Thanks

 

I believe the 04.5 still has it on the fuel filter. 05 + it is in the tank. It is the only lift pump (aka transfer pump). It feeds the injector pump. Yes, warranty should cover it but the dealer will put in the in tank version.

Do you suspect it has a problem?

Yes, I think it is bad .... The truck is dead and the fault codes indicate it ...The first dealer I called says it is not covered ... I just called a second dealer and they said it was covered plus a tow in... I made sure I got his name and I will go from there.... Thanks

i hear ya! It is definately covered.

now the bad news....There seems to be a national back order on these things.

I am in the same boat exept that at 130,000 miles i am on my own. I opted to replace the pump on the filter just to get me back on the road. there are plenty of them left. Geno's has them.

Soon I will do some research and go for an aftermarket system.
