Yukon Bushmonkey new to site
Greetings fellow diesel drivers
I just signed on to the webpage on my search to find out about the KDP and OD transmission searching for 4th gear issues. Great source of info here. Thanks I've got a 1993 2500 5.9 TD LE ext cab full size 4x4 truck and I'm almost afraid to start it up after reading about the KDP. The truck has it problems with the alternator volatage surging and the tranny looking for 4th after its warmed up. I've foud the solution to both of these problems on this site Now the KDP is making me nervous. The truck has 335,000 k on her and it's been babied but --it happens, and when it does, the motor has a melt down. If it wasn't -40 out here I'd be taking it apart to do some repairs. I'm north of 60 so I'll have to wait for summer. I traded this truck for my 92 5.9 TD flatdeck 4 speed auto with a gold miner two years ago. We both got what we wanted and I've been considering running a little biodiesel through her. I build an appleseed processor and made a few hundred litres of bidiesel from waste restaurant greese. I've converted a 1992 mercedes 220 diesel to run on straight veggy and of course biodiesel. Built all of it myself and so far so good. 4000 + k on the car and only 3 or so tanks for diesel used for starting and stopping. I'm still building up the nerve to convert the truck. I'm more willing to sacrifice the car right now if something goes south ( preferably me right now )

Don't panic about the KDP, just deal with it (and the timing case bolts too) as soon as you can work without the wrenches freezing to your fingers.
The VE pumps do OK on veggie oil IF you only switch when the veggie is warm and you AWAYS purge it thoroughly before shutdown. They are not as tough as the inline pumps on the old Benzes, those things will burn anything remotely oily...
