Post New guy, stationed in Italy

Hello everyone,

My name is James, I dont own a diesel truck...yet. I do own a Dodge though, a 2007 SRT8 Charger. Reason for signing up is because one of my friends has a Diesel and is on this site and recommended I join because soon as I get back to the USA (this time next year) I would like to be stationed in Florida but also would like a 04-06 5.9L Diesel RAM 2500. I'm not a troll and would like to read the do's and do not's, what's worked and what hasn't, etc. I will be looking to buy a 4x4 at minimum extended cab (hopefully bigger) I know for sure right now I want dual 6in stacks, 6-8 lift, 36-40 size tires, bed rails, pop out side step, fender flares and more. I have always wanted a big truck or jeep since my dad used to have a big/built up CJ Jeep. I recently sold my motorcycle and the car is pretty much paid off so I am interested in this new project and want to learn on the site. I have attached a picture of my car (i hope i dont get in trouble since this isnt the media portion of the forum...if there even is one) I know every forum has different rules so I should catch on fast. I want to thank everyone in advance for the time and advice in my future posts/questions.

Welcome to the website Sir! Glad to have you aboard.

That is a nice SRT-8 you have. Take time to look over our FORUMS section in the 3rd Gen Sections and you will get ALOT of information on everything you are looking for.

Let us know if we can be of help you to you Sir!

Welcome to the DTR. You'll forget all about that STR once you unlock a Cummins.

Browse around, ask questions, do as John suggested in the third gen section.

Yeah Ihave been reading in there, thats when I saw your signature in the thread where the guy blew his engine and all I could say to your dyno numbers is.... **** lol I don't plan on making the truck a drag truck but I will do a couple bolt ons but it will mostly be for just mudding and riding around. I admire diesels at the track. Just the amount of tq and hp they are pushing plus fill the track with the black smoke is just awesome imo. I want to make the Charger in to a show/display car. It is fast enough for me. I had fun with my 96 Cobra and motorcycle before I sold them. The Red Sled has a decent amount of hp for all engine car and sits 4 comfortably. My buddy told me im going to want a g56 to push the lifted truck w/ big tires and not have to worry about a thing.
