Might try for an assignment to Malmstrom AFB. Wanting to hear from someone who has been there or is there now. Info on the base, realestate, hunting fishing, weather, local interest or anything? Thanx guys

i have been to the base and the great falls, mt area a few times. nice place. hot in the summer, cold in winter. antelope hunting nearby. great lake about 80 miles north, at tiber dam

 

nice place- a little windy tho!! There is Showdown Ski resort to the south, and mountains to the west and south. Real estate is fairly cheap, and the river goes right thru town. It's got a "comfortable" feeling, farmers and ranchers make it a friendly place. Helena to Greatfalls is one of the nicest drives in MT.

I was stationed at malmstrom for 4 years and spent 1 year there as a civilian. The weather is pretty harsh at times, but not too bad. Theres alot of hunting, fishing and outdoor activities if thats what you like. The area is gorgeous. Canada is a couple hours north. The housing is very inexpensive. I rented a 3 bedroom home for 500 a month. The average house probably goes for 100k - 200k. If you have anymore questions just pm norcal and he'll let me know. I'm a co-worker of his.
