Hi everyone...we are thinking of buying 5th wheel...have an 06 ctd, 5.9, 3.73 gear ratio...automatic...3/4 ton mega cab.Does anyone have info on tow capacity...and since we will be towing a 5th wheel I guess also important is the payload since weight on rear axle.Also any tips /suggestions on type of hitch(slider type or not).
It would be good to hear from someone about how big/heavy 5th wheel you have and if happy with towing with similar vehicle to ours.

To answer your question on the towing capacity of the 2006 Dodge CTD CR Pickups, here is an excerpt out of of the "Gulf Coast News":

"In addition to the most torque available in a production heavy-duty pickup, the Dodge Ram Heavy Duty boasts towing capability of 16,400 lbs., a payload of 5,020 lbs. and Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) and Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) of 23,000 lbs.and 12,200 lbs., respectively."

So, it looks like the 2006 Dodge CTD CR Dually has a 16,400 lb. towing capability. As I recall, the single axle 2006's were around 15,000 lbs.
