your GCVWR is 21,000lbs with 3.73 gears, if you are trying to stay within Dodge's ratings. Just weigh your truck at a CAT scales or somewhere and subtract that from 21,000. Your truck prob weighs around 8000lbs. So the quick answer will be around 13,000lbs.

Your GVWR is probably 9000lbs. So it is going to be real easy to go over that figure with pin weight from the 5ver. But I wouldn't be concerned as long as the rear axle weight on the truck doesn't overload your tires ratings.

The tires are really going to be the weak point. Your truck is capable of hauling and towing alot more than Dodge "Rates" it at.

I'd get a slider hitch with a short bed mega.

I have a 2006 Mega Cab and tow a Jayco 30.5 BHS 5'er. I have a Reese slider hitch, but have never used the slider. I can jack the truck around and clear the cab just fine (always have a spotter just in case). My Jayco weighs in at around 8500 lbs loaded. Not sure on the pin weight off the top of my head. My only issue was th get the axles on the trailer lowered enought to get the rear of the trailer up so she rides level (I have a 4X4).

Thanks for info

Thanks for the info....
Regarding my tires...My current tires are 265-70-17 and rated for 3195 lbs per tire however I am going to purchase new tires ...rated @ 3750lbs per tire and are 285-70-17.
Are the slider hitches much more expensive?

THANKS AGAIN!!
