New to it all
Hello I am new to the forum and new to diesel ownership
On Thursday I pick up a 2006 Dodge 2500 Mega cab SLT with the 5.9L
I have only been on the forum for a couple hours so I have a lot to learn. I am very versed in the ways of the gasoline genre. So please be patient with me while I figure out this diesel stuff. But a little introduction is in order I like classic cars and trucks I currently have one of each. So if you are in and around the Idaho area you might catch me at a Car show. I have been in the Air Force for a little over 12 years. Well enough about me for now I look forward to getting to know all of you and expanding my knowledge with your help.

I think my biggest concern is just learning where everything is on the truck. I am also getting the idea that the fuel filtration system is way more critical on these then a gasser.

Welcome to the DTR.
Yes, clean fuel is an important issue... bad fuel leads to bad injectors which leads to diesel in your crankcase... so on and so on...
Just make sure to throw some supporting mods on before bombing the heck out of it...
Ask, and ye shall receive!

My first round of mods is just going to be the easy bolt on stuff like intake and a new muffler. Round two will be some exterior dress up items like fender flares and step nerf bars since the wife and daughter have a hard time getting in to the tall beast. My third round will be wheels and tires since the Mud terrain tires the dealership put on it are nosey and not nearly tall enough 265/70/17 and will more then likely suck in the snow. I think the first major mod will be the 2 micron fuel filter and water seperator.
