Mega Cab
Mega Cab
About a year ago I bought a 06 2500 Quad Cab and absolutely love it. I drive about 35 miles one way to work and at 62 - 65 mph, I get a consist 19 - 20 mpg. I am semi-retired and will be taking delivery of a new 34ft 5th wheel in about three week so we a looking for a newer (not new ) mega cab. My first concern was whether the short box was going to be a problem, but with the help of several RV sites, I have that taken care of. Now I'm learning about the 5.9 vs 6.7 engines. Would appreciate any guidance relating to performance between the two, I've been told by some that the pollution controls on the 6.7 makes it not as nice as the 5.9 but I don't have a clue. Any ways, I've enjoyed looking through the forums and will try and learn what people have to share.

Welcome to DTR and the addiction!!
The 6.7 is great if you do the emission deletes. MPG comes back up along with a few other things.
The 5.9 is obviously easier to mod and cheaper as well and is very reliable.
Do a lot of reading in both 3rd Gen and 4th Gen forums here and ask lots of questions. You will get lots of very good answers and even more ideas of where to go.
