Exclamation Wiring harness

I have a huge problem. I have a factory hitch w/ a 7 pole RV connector. Well the other day i bought an adapter to plug in a boat and my wires fried and melted some. The problem that i have, is that the wiring harness that i need is discontinued and i cant drive my truck until i get it fixed. Do any of you know of someone or somewhere that i can look to find one since none of the dealers around me have them. If you can help it would be so much appreciated. THanks.

Don't see that you have much choice to either replace the wires yourself or go to a junkyard. The donor truck doesn't need to be a diesel so there should be plenty of them.

I don't know about where you live but the walmart here has universal trailer wiring kits with diagrams for $12-$19 depending on the type you need.

Welcome to DTR! You are in good company. Chances are good someone here has had the same experience.
What year is your truck? I'm assuming the wires that melted are on the truck since you blame the adapter. Where on the truck are the wires damaged? How about the trailer wiring? Why did it not shoot the fuse before the damage was done? If the damage is to the trailer tow harness, and the dealership can't order a replacement (or point you to an aftermarket mfg) you'll have to get one from a donor truck of the same vintage; on the Gen3 Dodge, it unplugs behing the front fender. If your harness was a custom job I think we can help there too, just need more info.
