Rough Idle

Hey guys we have a 98 dodge ram cummins and when you start it it dosnt like to idle and to start going in drive you have to hold the brake and give it some gas when starting or it will stall sometimes. Anyone have any tips? Can it be dirty injectors or what? It has about 110,000 miles. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

What RPM does it idle at? 800 to 850 with the truck in "Drive" and the A/C on is the norm. Over a period of time the throttle linkage stop wears on the adjusting nut on a 12 valve and has to be re-adjusted. This is a simple adjustment with the engine turned off and a 10mm wrench. The adjusting nut is located at the back rear & bottom of the fuel pump on the drivers side. Loosen the lock nut on the bottom, give the bolt about a 1/4 reverse turn to increase the length of the bolt, and then tighten down the lock nut and fire er up and see what you get. It helps to have someone hold down the throttle while you are making this adjustment so that the throttle stop is off the adjusting nut making it easier to get to and adjust the stop. Hope this helps you out.

I think the idle has already been adjusted. Any other ideas?
