What's going on???????
Hey Guys, I need some immediate Help!!! I just got my truck back yesterday from dealer. They replaced Injector pump. About a week ago they replaced the LP as they wanted to go the cheap route first. Before they changed it I had 14PSI at Idle 12PSI Cruising & 9-10 at WOT. Now i get 10-11 Idle & 9 cruising and it doesn't move from there on. I 'm in my shop write now and I thought maybe I'll try bleeding the FP line to my sending unit. I took off the hose and put it into a can I turned on key and nothing came out I tried it several times and still nothing. It seems to me that when I installed my FP gauge this is all I had to do to bleed it. I bumped the engine over and it pumped fuel great even after I turned off the key it pumped for a few seconds??? Is this right???? I put hose back on sending unit and started engine. Pressure stayed at 9PSI until I reved engine then after 2 seconds the gauge rose to 11PSI and would not move even if I reved the engine. I remember before this LP was installed when I turned key on and wait to start light came on the FP gauge would rise a little to about 5-6PSI then once I started would immediatly would go to 14. Is this LP * bad? Responses would be greatly appreciated

It is normal for the electric lift pump to pump for a few seconds after you bump the starter. For the electric pump to start its purge cycle the starter solenoid must first trigger the timer, so that is normal. The fuel pressure is within the "approved" range for the current "improved" lift pumps.
Thanks for the info. I was quite frustrated this AM after everything I have been going through lately it's to bad that DC can't get there stuff together because they are not doing any favours to the Cummins Engine. If anything they are really giving it a bad name.
