is my ip shot or ecm bad if codereader cant communicate ?

1689: no communication between the ECM and injection pump module replace injection pump and you are good to go 1688 should be there also.....

This may or may not be your problem but...............

I also had no comm bet. ecm and ip with a bad edge ez. I removed the ez and sent it to be checked and it was shot. I never had to replace the ip.

 

thank you guys i will see if the pumpis still under warranty. the owner is going to quit using his french fry oil based diesel in this truck
