Re:Warranty Hot Line???

Since you are running a puck in your truck, I think you are going to have a problem. How exactly does it work? If it set codes in your ECM, your warranty is gone. Best of luck.

Re:Warranty Hot Line???

I am not personally familiar with the puck, but if it is like an EZ or any of the modules that plug into the ECM, there will be codes stored that a properly trained mechanic can retrieve with the right equipment. (yes, even if the batteries are disconnected) Have you asked yet why they denied your warranty? I would guess that is the reason.

Re:Warranty Hot Line???

amartinson--being just an ignorant collision instructor at a MPLS college. How does the PUCK or chip effect the ECM, and what would it have to do with the injector pump failing.
I put the puck on when the truck had 20K on it, now has 80k.

Any idea why they would warranty the transfer pump last week with the puck on it?? Or is it a $$$$ thing.

PS I'd still like to call Daimler Chrylser. Especially since they just started the Chrysler Apprenticeship Program (CAP) at the college where I teach.

Just want to go down swinging...Bob B

Re:Warranty Hot Line???

Since you're about 5 miles away from me, if you want, you can give me a call at home. I'm not an expert on the modules, but I'll try to explain it the best I can.

If not, I'm sure one of the big boys will also chime in.

If you're interested I'm at 763-560-4315

Re:Warranty Hot Line???

Andy--just got back from the dealer.. Long story short--thanks for the ammo--they bought the fact that they replaced the transfer pump last week, and that the two were
related. Thanks for your help ;D

Only bad thing--2-8 days. :'(

Re:Warranty Hot Line???

Being I'm on the other side of the fence on this one lets try this. Call them up and request a written diagnostic report on why your injector pump is not being covered. Tell them you want it for legal reasons or whatever and post their reply here. I'm interested to see what they have found. Usually when a fueling box is used it will leave some "tracks". Every time a dtc is set there is "freeze frame data" that is stored in the ecm. Often when these boxes are used data is manipulated in some section so you will see some info that is in line with the problem at hand and then you will see some sensors with nearly impossible readings compared to the others. An easy example of how these boxes change data is how it affects the overhead mileage computer.

J-Body

They ARE going to cover it. After some friendly discussion, they agreed that the failure of the lift pump last week was directly related to the injector pump. Furthermore, it should have been diagnosed last week when the transfer pump was replaced. Thanks--Magnum
