Exclamation Vexing Tranny Issue, please help!

First I would like to say that I have read every post I can find reguarding transmissions and issues likewise. Nothing I have come across has problems I am having.

I have an 04 3500 48RE. The tranny is slipping just slightly and at low speeds it sometimes hunts for gear. Checked the fluid and it was burt. Got a new clutch kit, new bands and Mag fluid pan. Installed all this stuff, adjusted bands, and added about 2000000 qts of fluid, until it was full. Took for a test drive and all was fine at first then it felt like someone was hitting the brakes all of a sudden. Pulled over and checked everything out and found nothing wrong. On the way back it drove normal until I got to my place where it started to hunt for gears again, at about 15MPH.... I dont know enough about A/T to figure this out.... My truck is a theft recovery, so there is no warenty......Please help!! I have to drive across the country next week!!

i had that same problem and messed with it for a while, thought my torque converter was going, i used a little grease and pulled the cable some and it worked like a charm after that, it has done it 2 more times after that but it just needed more grease, just carry something with you in case it sticks again!! good luck with it!

Mine wa slightly different, well the cause was. It bolies down to me being an idiot. There is a snap-ring that holds the lever arm in place and I didnt install it...oops. The whole rod was sliding down into the tranny cases and when it would move there was interfearance.
