Valve Lash Adjustment

For instructions, go to the header on this board and Click on "Tech Facts". Go to 2nd Gen 24 valve and then the procedures for adjusting valve lash.

Did this a few weeks ago and never did figure out how to remove the crankcase breather from the front of the engine. Maybe someone else can chime in.

Crankcase breather, removal is easy. Take the hose off of it and then twist it off. It screws onto the block. 1 full turn removes it. Behind it you will find the timing mark. The 'hole' you removed the breather from has two indents in it, one at the 12 oclock position and 6 oclock position. 12 is TDC and 6 is BDC. You will need a mirror to be able to see the marks to line them up. Other wise it is an easy procedure. I will be writing a tech article (with pictures) covering this procedure soon.

You can also adjust them by slowly rotating until the exhaust valves start to open (on the particular cylinder you are working in) and adjust the intake tappets. The slowly rotate until the intake valves just finish closing and do the exhaust clearances. I run them three times to make sure I have them right.
