Thumbs up Vacuum pump ear - can it be welded?

I broke off the ear on the vacuum pump and am wondering if I can get it welded or if I need to get a new piece. Any advice/thoughts?

Thanks,
T-Bone

Thanks! Will do. I spoke with Pete when my vacuum checkvalve went out. $18 from Cummins. Over $110 from Dodge.

I think the new piece is around $400 I used Duct tape wrapped around a muffler clamp and it's held for the last 2 years.

From: North Carolina or Kentucky. Take your pick
I suggest looking for another part or New. Welding would probablly cause alignment issues with PS.

Thanks for all the help. I called Pete and a new part is on the way. I needed to do something about the vacuum pump as it was leaking. Now, I just need to address the oil sending unit I also broke off. :-(

It might be cheaper to have someone else work on your truck. Maybe you should stop eating spinach and wheaties.

Update. Got the new vacuum pump yesterday. Bolted things together and bled power steering system. Much better now! Thanks for the help.

All in all a good thing to replace the vacuum pump. I had an oil leak there and would have ended up taking it back apart to fix that at some point.
