two questions??

truck is a 94 dodge, CTD, 4 x 4 , 5 speed

Exhaust manifold gasket has blown apart. Does the exhaust manifold have bolts or studs holding it to the block?? Do I have to take the exhaust manifold completely loos to replace the gasket?

And last...... I replaced my steering box and steering shaft. Steering wheel is now 1/2 turn to the right when I am going straight. What is the best way to get the steering wheel aligned?

Thanks.......

Dave

Exhaust manifold is bolted on. what you most likely have going on is that the heat cycles have warped your manifold causing the gasket failure. Some get so bad you can actually see the "bend" of the bolts. ATS 3 piece manifold would be the way to fly.

On your wheel, luckily you have a 4x4. The adjuster is right down from the pitman arm on the steering link. Loosen the two 15mm bolts so the adjuster sleave will turn. Give it a couple turns and test drive. Repeat until straight. Big open parking lot comes in handy for this.

To center your steering wheel, adjust your tire pressure and find a level road. Mark your steering wheel at the top when you're going straight. Set the mark at the top when you stop and then adjust the drag link like J Body said until you get the wheel centered.
