Just a quick note, Yes if the lift pump failed the truck, even though it was running fine, will just out of the blue quit running. Call Chrysler customer care hotline, it's in your owners manual, explaining the millage etc and they will tow it to your closest dealer for repair. Next, if it is the lift pump which it sounds like it is, it is located on the side of the fuel filter canister, will be removed and relocated to the in tank pump, takes about 1 day for repairs if parts are in stock, and whatever time for parts if not in stock. Don't be suprised if about 1 month later a similuar thing happens and then it will be the injector pump, the CP3 pump, as starving the cp3 with a failing lift pump usually causes the cp3 to fail also. On your 04.5 it should be covered under your "ENGINE" warranty, under 5 years and under 100K no deductable over 5 yrs under 100K $100 deductable. Dealer will try to put you under the 7yr/70K ($100 deductable) but read your owners manual and under the engine warranty it states amongst other things fuel pumps, injectors engine crankshaft, pistons and so on. Stand your ground if they try the $100 thing and call Customer Care who will confirm no charge.

Good luck but get it to the dealer, unless you want to install a Fass or like system on your own.
