truck will not start
truck will not start
just had the edge juice with attitude install on monday and was driving today and in just died. Ive been carefull not to run the fuel pressure below 5psi. it didnt smoke or anything it just shut off. hope i didnt kill the VP44. only been running the juice on level 1 and 2. i am new to this site so any help would be appreciated thanks. oh my truck is a 2000 2500 5sp have not had time to fill out my sig.
Have you tried removing the Edge and resetting any codes that might be set? If you read here enough, you'll find that any time you tap the pump wire, you take a chance on dumping the VP.
i didnt install the edge so im going to take it back to the guy that install the edge in the morning. hope i didnt make a wrong move in getting the edge i though it would be a good thing to help with towing.
wish i would have known this or would not have had it done.(about tapping the pump wire) it add plenty of power more than what i need. Sure could use a good diesel shop around here. hopefully it can be fixed easyly if not it will be good insurance knowing that i have a fresh vp. the truck has 124000 miles and im preaty sure it is the original pump.
Don't misunderstand me. Tapping the wire does not always kill the pump, it's just that several on here have had it die shorty afterward. Some of the wire tap boxes even have a warning in the manual. If you know someone with a code reader, have them read the codes. I'm not real sure, but I think the Key on, key off three time will show the codes on the odometer on your 00. With an 0216 code the truck usually has "dead pedal", but will continue to run for awhile. If you get the 1688, like I did, you're dead in the water.
