Have you tried removing the Edge and resetting any codes that might be set? If you read here enough, you'll find that any time you tap the pump wire, you take a chance on dumping the VP.

Good idea.

Edge makes a good product, but sometimes tapping the wire for more HP will stress a marginal pump. Hopefully, it's something simple and inexpensive to fix.

wish i would have known this or would not have had it done.(about tapping the pump wire) it add plenty of power more than what i need. Sure could use a good diesel shop around here. hopefully it can be fixed easyly if not it will be good insurance knowing that i have a fresh vp. the truck has 124000 miles and im preaty sure it is the original pump.

Don't misunderstand me. Tapping the wire does not always kill the pump, it's just that several on here have had it die shorty afterward. Some of the wire tap boxes even have a warning in the manual. If you know someone with a code reader, have them read the codes. I'm not real sure, but I think the Key on, key off three time will show the codes on the odometer on your 00. With an 0216 code the truck usually has "dead pedal", but will continue to run for awhile. If you get the 1688, like I did, you're dead in the water.
