truck wants to die at idle

1997 dodge 4x4 auto.

i let the truck warm up after work for about 20 minutes. truck was running fine down the road until i went to stop at a stop sign. and the truck didn't want to stop. the motor sarted to bong down and idle really low. i put it in neutral and it ran just fine. put it back in drive and drove it home. put about 1/2 quart off atf in it. drove it some move and still the same problem, im thinking that the torque converter in not unlocking. some one HELP!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like your T/C is not unlocking or hanging up might be a bad solenoid
have it scanned for codes
