Truck idles at 1500RPM's

Hello All,

My truck will idle between 1000 and 1500 RPM's. Also when I first step on the go pedal in the morning it seems stiff (bound up) at first. The throttle cable was replaced under the recall. This has been happening for a short while and I have sprayed lubricants on the pivot points a couple times but this only lasts for a couple days!

Am I missing something else?? Is there anything else that can be causing this??

As always all responses are greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Mike

Re:Truck idles at 1500RPM's

First, check the return spring on the linkage. Also, you really have to clean and re-lubricate the bell crank on the throttle pivot. Finally, make sure that all of the transmission linkage pivot points are well lubricated.
...a second finally...make sure that neither floor matting nor wires are binding inside the cab.

good luck
