I was having the same problem - it died whenever I went to reverse. The idle was just below 500 rpm. Warwagon is right. The book says to place the low speed idle at 750 - 800 rpm when in drive with the AC on.

I adjusted mine last night because I was tired of it stalling out. Before I adjusted it, I used the 2 foot method and gave it a touch of fuel. This worked fine for me but the wife drives it too. It seems about once a year this needs to be adjusted. Last time, I cheated and used it as an excuse to put some injectors in If I had the cash, I'd have done the 3 GSK this round

The low idle screw is VERY sensitive and it doesn't take much at all to raise the idle. The toughest part is to ensure when you tighten the lock nut, you don't "readjust" the idle. I have to go and readjust mine this weekend because it's idling at about 950 rpm - livable because the stalling is stopped. Good Luck!
