Truck Died
Truck Died
Today I was driving on the highway when all of a sudden the engine just quit. No warning what so ever. And I can't figure what is wrong. I just replaced my vp44 and installed a new lift pump about a month ago. I turn the key and cranked for half a second to see if my lift pump is actually working. The pump runs but I have no fuel pressure. I changed the fuel filter thinking it might be the culprit, but no. I'm thinking there might be an airlock somewhere between the lift pump and fuel tank but I'm not sure. Do you guys think that might be the problem? and if so, how do I go about bleeding those lines? Any help is greatly appreciated.
As the fuel gages can become unreliable.... do you do actually have fuel in your tank? If so I would fill it just in case the dip tube has a leak. If it still won't bleed using the starter bump method then some guys have pressurized the tank with LOW air pressure to bleed up to the LP.
i dont know if this is the problem, but the LP might be bad. i replaced mine, and 1000 miles later, it went out. I put a raptor on and not a problem since. PS does the pump sound good or is it really quiet. when mine died it was really quiet
