Trouble starting

On Sunday I replaced the injectors on my 04 and everything seemed to go well. Started it after changing them and only had to crank on it for about 30-40 seconds to get the new ones primed and it fired off. Runs great and took care of the severe smoke at idle, however, I got home and after about an hour went back out to start it and it would just crank and crank but not fire. I messed with it and looked for loose connectors, took the quad off, and couldn't find any reason for it not to start. Since it was warm and I felt like the grid heater wouldn't be cycling i gave it a very small shot of starting fluid and it fired right away. let it run a bit and tried again. Same response when immediately trying to restart. skip to the next day and I change the fuel filter and clean the filter bowl out because it had a small amount of dirt and what looked to me small metal shavings in the bottom. I reprimed the system a couple times after reinstalling and it fired right off again. Thought this had it fixed (with an occasional priming randomly between starts) and it seemed to for the rest of the day and when my wife went to start it the next morning. I had her wait for the fuel pump to stop before starting and it started just like normal. When she went to lunch later though it wouldn't start again. Over the phone I had her prime a couple times and though she didn't do it just right, It should have started but didn't. So now its back to the starting fluid method. I was out of town without my computer most of the week and didn't get home until 1:30 this morning so I haven't had a chance to ask your opinions till now. I'm at a loss as to what is causing the issues. My check engine light isn't on and I can't check codes on my dash because the display is messed up. so I'm hoping that someone on here is able to give me a direction. Its starting to get cool and I can't continue to use starting fluid on it indefinitely. Please help.
Nick

sounds like an inj leak, or hi press line leak. either of these would prevent hi enough rail press to start. you need to ck rail press with scan tool
