transmission hung up in high gear
Just bought an 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 2 wheel drive with the 5 speed transmission. Truck runs GREAT, but transmission acts like it is hung up in a high gear, shifter is hard to move and even it I put it in Neutral or what should be neutral and let off the clutch, the truck will try and take off.

take the shifter off from the top and inspect the shifter and see if it moves had one that would hang up in 5th when the fluid was dirty. sounds like the same thing. if its locked up you cant move the synchro stuff up top. if it is locked up you might be able to get it free with a pry tool.

Had it checked out today!
Some front bearing had come apart and torn up everything. Lucky for me I have another 2001 with a knocking engine that has a new transmission. Cheaper to change trannys than change enignes.
