Help: Throttle hung after 6plate
Help: Throttle hung after 6plate
Well everything was going fine until a bolt fell that went to the template. Possibly into pump. Couldn't find on floor and didn't see hung anywhere, but didn't see in pump sounded like it fell lower and hit frame hopefully thats were mistery bolt is. So we drined pump and sucked as much fluid out. Felt around with screw drivers, coat hangers, and flexible magnet for 2hrs nerver found it in pump. Put back together and test drove, everything fine for 5 min or so and the went to let off and truck acts like its at 1/2 throttle wont rev back down. Has the mistery bolt got something hung or gov lever not adjusted? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Sorry, anything floating around loose in the pump can cause massive governor damage.
People I know who have lost parts in the pump haven't succeeded in fixing the pump themselves, pump needed to be pulled and professionally rebuilt.

did you check the adjustment of the governor arm? if its getting caught on the lip of that plate ( and the #6 has a good lip on it ) the truck will run like a dog.
The part about not throttling back down again sounds like what happened to zack911 with his governor spring shim getting caught in the pump. The good news is that your 95 has a 160hp pump so if it is toast, you get a nice upgrade along with a 215 replacement.
