driving to work this morning won't go into od then about 5 miles down the road it would not move tranny fluid good smelled burned wated 20-30 min then drove home still started slipping after awhile what should i do pulled trans pan could filter be problem or what

 

Doesn't sound very good, you can pull pan and see what pieces/chunks or friction material may be in there. I don't think by the sound of it, that changing filter and fluid would have ANY benefit now, nor would adjusting bands(although you could try). Sounds like at least direct and o.d. clutch packs, bands, and/or torque are burnt, and probably beyond repair . It is probably time for a complete rebuild, so call DTT, ATS, Goerend Bros. or other quality trans shops named on this board.

Most of us had to bite the bullet to do it, but it is well worth the extra power you can put down to the ground, without worrying if it will hold up in the future. IMO I wouldn't get it rebuilt at a trans shop, or at dealership(unless it's under warranty). Reason being is that it probably won't last very long with your mods(or future mods), unless you plan on getting rid of truck soon after it's fixed, then it wouldn't matter.
