All, I have a 99 4x4, quad cab automatic. Had alot of recent AC work done, mechanics busted the seal on incoming quick connect rubber line at the cooler. After alot of arguing and finger pointing they replaced them, 2 days later thet're leaking again. Can I just use 250psi hydraulic lines and double hose clamp it? New factory parts are as bad as the old ones. Help, I feel like my trucks bleeding to death, I'm keeping it filled but can't find anybody truthful out there. Any ideas? Houston TX

 

yeah i got rid of mine years ago.

 

My return line sprung a leak where it passes really close to the other line near the pan. I guess the vibration made the metal lines rub together. I cut out the bad section and used the double hose clamps and the only problem I've had in 2 years is I didn't have the hose clamps tight enough and the hose popped off once.

 

I had problem with the flare on metal line had cracked. I didn't notice until I replaced hose with disconnect and it still leaked.

 

You don't need hydraulic hose, way overkill as the pressure in the cooling system is about 10 psi max.
Plus hydraulic hose doesn't hose clamp well.
Any oil resistant hose that can take the heat will work.
