I have just read about 100 post that all describe the same problem. I am convinced it's the governor solenoid and sensor. Guess what i'll be doing tommorrow!!!

oh i can imagine. but hey no worries. it's is easy, i promise. just have fun draining the fluid if you don't have a plug, which i guess you said you've changed the filter before so you have experience huh?

but i was wondering, how many miles do you have on your truck? from what i've read it happens around 40,000-80,000 miles. mine happened around 64,000. what about you?

Thanks for all the info guys. It turned out to be the governor sensor and solenoid. I got them at dealer cost thru my workplace. It cost me about $150 total. The problem went away and it shifts better than ever. I also adjusted the bands. Thanks again.

I hit 85000 miles this week. The only other problem i have had with this truck was the injector pump. That went out at about 55,000. I work her hard, but man i love this truck. Once ya go diesel, ya never go back!!
