Tranny issues
I am in need of some advice.
I did post part of this issue a couple of weeks ago in the 2nd Generation area by accident but did rec. some good info. Now I know a bit more of the problem. When the temperature drops below 20 degrees my tranny slips in between OD and drive. It also will slip a bit when locked out of OD, it is also intermittent. It will go down the road fine for a while and then act up again. If it's above 20 degrees it runs fine all day long. I put a new APPS in and went through the calibration procedure that I found here, (thanks) as suggested by my local dealer mechanic and my local transmission shop. I trust both mechanics and they both suggested the same thing. How could a guy go wrong??? Well, $318.00 in the red and I still have the same problem. I had asked about the temp switch on the tranny and I was told it would not cause the problems I am having. I do not know eitherway. Would a bad solenoid cause it to shift funny? Working in the hydraulic field I have problems with coils / solenoids causing issues at different temps when they are bad. I would think being the solenoids are in warm tranny fluid it would not be problem. Any advice would be appreaciated. I hate to pull the tranny out and have be somthing else.
Thanks,
Hydraulic Guy

Jrr,
Engine temp runs around 180 to 190 consistantly and I also have weather front on it. I did try something today, I down loaded a PDF file from ATS Diesel on running a jumper from the PCM direct to the APPS. I did it this afternoon and it seems to have taken care of the issue. I took it for a 20 mile cruise and had no problems. It's also 6 degrees outside. I'm gonna leave it outside tonight and see how it does tomorrow. I will post my findings.
On another note, I spoke with two guys at ATS Diesel today on the phone for a couple of clarifications on the instructions and they were excellent to talk to. Thanks!
