Tranny issues all the time

Okay this is what it is this time i have a fully built tranny, now it is shifting erratically and likes to go from first to third. when i stop the converter unlocks completely and pauses then re engages again. i changed both solenoids two days ago as i had almonst the same issues. now 2 days later it is back again...... now *** is going on here??

so i replaced both solenoids again....now i start in 2nd gear all the time

Looks like it's time to call up piers and ask them what's going on.

Would you mind posting your results? I too am having very odd transmission issues similar to yours. I do not have a fully rebuilt tranny, but upgraded the VB and converter

I take it by solenoids you mean the TCC and OD ? There is a little brass sensor in the valve body. It's called the governor pressure transducer (really it is) this is a VERY common problem with the smaller trucks so I suspect it will be the same with yours. These sensors run approx $90 from the dealer. I have a spare laying around here, your welcome to try it out and see if it solves your problem.

I can give you more detailed info on changing it and so forth if needed. Requires very minor disassembly of one section of the VB, but doesn't have any springs or check *****, just a plate.
