I started to install a TST Power Kit on my 1998 12V....first thing is to remove the air intake from the manifold for access. When I took the air intake off I found no gasket between the manifold and the air intake....shouldn't there be a gasket?

 

Yes, there should be. They usually stick on one side or the other, are you positive that it's missing?

 

positive.....I have a sheet of gasket material, it's a soft black material. I'm think of cutting out a gasket until I can get a OEM gasket. That should do??

 

Give her a shot of silver paint to help seal the imperfections.

 

Yeah, the factory gasket is stiff gasket paper.
