Unhappy It stopped running

I have a 1999 Dodge 3500 5.9 dulley with 63,000 mi. It has a new lift pump. My recent trip down the highway it began hic cupping around 3X then finally stopped running. Waited 2.5 hrs and then it started right up it ran for 2 miles, same problem. Waited again, it ran enough to get home. Has approximately 20lbs of fuel pressure new filter, and 3/4 tank full. Any help on this would be deeply appreciated.
PS it shows no codes when it is plugged into a system trouble shooter. I don't even knew if it is computer controlled.

Did this problem start immediately after you installed the new lift pump? Have you filled up shortly before the problem started?

Check the fuel lines going to the new lift pump and verify that there are no suction leaks.
Check for water in the fuel.

If memory serves me, that generation will continue to run with out a lift pump. Seems my 01 had several lift pumps go bad, it just ran poorly.

Hmmm, you could be right. OK then, how about a bad electrical connection to the shutoff valve and it losing voltage intermittently?

It just stopped

O.K. that's my thought too. BUT where would the connections be located so that I could test the voltage? Will I get a voltage read with the key 'on' or should the engine be running? BTW I pressured the fuel tank with 5lbs and saw now leaks anywhere.
