starts then suts down
Starts then shuts down. i have dodge cummins o4 standard 2500 and it died in the middle of a intersection. there wasnt any indication of engine lights or anything had it towed to local mech just wondering what to expect. feels like its fuel starved, friend said it needs plugs pls help
Contaminated fuel? Gas instead of diesel? Change out the fuel filter and maybe have the fuel tested if there is any suspicion of contamination or gas.
Cycle the ignitin switch on/off/on/off/on and read the codes in the odometer window.
Next thing to check is fuel pressure to see if the lift pump is doing its job.

Transfer pump aka lift pump.
Mine died on the highway...would start but not continue to run.
Had the inank fuel pump conversion done and no problems since.
In fact I think it may have been going for awhile...on heavy acceleration it would stumble a bit....as soon as you backed off a bit it ran ok.
