SBC Clutch Wont engage
SBC Clutch Wont engage
I had a SBC DD installed in the truck in feb. and had great luck since.......until last night. While pulling my 24' enclosed trailer to work from missouri to penn. I started experiencing a clutch that wont engage or disengage and it takes both hands to get it into gear and a whole lot of force when stopped. After I get rolling it gets better but definatly not good. I dont know the series of clutch as I am on the road working away from the paper work. I did call SBC and Pete was not there and several of the other guys were not very helpful as I was instructed that they only manufacture clutches and do not install them they could not provide any tech support on the Dodge. I had a reputable(?) shop at home do the install along with the new better hydrolics from the 2nd Gen. I tried adjusting the pedal all the way out on the clutch and that doesnt help. When it does dissengage I get a pop and I have the pedal as hard as I can on the wall. Im gonna try Pete back tomorrow but I would like to have this fixed soon because I will need to pull this trailer back in about 10 days or so.
What can I do or try and does anyone know a good shop or any diesel shop the scranton, PA area???? Thanks in advance any help is appreciated.
Please note that I have up to this point been very happy with my SBC DD.

I'll second that. They don't show any sign when they fail. So just looking at the fluid level is not an indication
I'll bet you anything, that's what it is. The clutch master and slave cylider are a one piece unit from Dodge. It already has the fluid in it and is bled and ready to go when you buy the combo right off the shelf.
Super easy install also.
