Rear brake help on a 99

I need to loosen the rear brakes on my truck as they are way to tight, and for the life of me I cant seem to get the rod to loosen, what am I supposed to push on? is it the other side of the rod? Thanks.

Look in the adjustment hole with a flashlight you'll see a flat metal piece directly under the starwheel. Push in on this with a screwdriver while turning the starwheel downward.

Infidel has it right. The inspection hole you want to look in is the rear most, lowest one. This is true for both sides BTW.

Just don't panic. I have had them very tight before and thought I was screwed, just figure out which way to loosen it and go the other way after you press in the adjuster.
