ran out of fuel NEED HELP! Cant start

Ran out of fuel, primed lift pump but still can't get it started

Since there is no information about the truck, the best bet is for you to read your owner's manual section on changing the fuel filter. Start there, and then if it does not do the job, let us know which year you are having trouble with.

Yes, the year would help immensely.

Since you said you "primed the lift pump" this implies a 12 valve engine, but unsure.

Did you put #2 diesel in the tank before you tried to start it and prime it??? Did you open the bleeder screw on top of the filter housing and by the overflow valve? Like the rest said, what are you driving??? If it's a ford........

crack the fuel lies one at a time turn engine over till fuel starts spraying,will usually start after doing this make sure there is fuel in filter assy.
