Without knowing the electrical of an '06 I'd guess either a relay is sticking on or your key switch is acting up.
My bet is more than the radio is staying on.

My bet is on a relay/connection in the steering column. Or something between the radio and the column. Look for a crimped wire or exposed wire by a connector, relay. Just my .02 with some experience.

If the correct setting is set the radio is supposed to stay on for about 10 minutes or so after shut down or until a door is opened. Might that be the case?

mine just started the same thing today. shut off truck and radio stayed on for a few seconds, never did before, and don't have any settings that would cause it. also i opened the door with my keys in my hand and it began chiming as though i had left the key in the ignition, it eventually went off by itself. any common electrical between the two to start checking?
