quick question - fuel filter up/down

in middle of swapping lift pump (so far, kinda so good)

1. fuel filter canister has a disk piece in the bottom of it.
cleaned it some, still kinda cruddy. guessing leave it
in, but wanted to check.

2. Also, new fleetguard filter is flat on one end but has
a raised area around the center of the other end.
so, which end is up? (filter coming out flat on both
ends)

Thanks. Already regretting not having time to put
in frame-mount kit.

Filter can only go in one way, unless you got the wrong one.

The end with the hole has to go over the center post.

Oh. It only has a hole in one end.

Got thrown a bit cause the one I took out had holes on
both ends. Turns out the filter media had come disconnected
from it's endcap, which I didn't figure out until the new filter
wouldn't fit into the filter lid.

New lift pump in, not as much dead pedal. But still some, dangit.

Thanks,
Lowell
