pyrometer acting up!

I have an Autometer Pyrometer, it started acting up yesterday. When the engine is running the gauge reads 0, and when I shut it off it reads 300 degrees! any help diagnosing the problem would be appreciated.

Never heard of that one. It's gotta be a connection at the gauge. possibly the backlight wiring shorting out to the probe wires. I would start there since the pyro/probe itself is a very simple device.

How old is the thermo couple and is it pre/post turbo.

Might be getting burned up and time for a replacement.
